Amplify Amplify, a companion toolbar and online community, empowers Web users to find, collect, save and share the content they care about.
Companion Toolbar.- Amplify’s companion toolbar allows people to easily find and collect the online content they care about from multiple Websites in personalized pages called Amps. These Amps can then be saved and shared with anyone as Web-based multi-source bookmarks with just a single link.
The companion toolbar offers users a search tool, pop-up blocker, an Amplify Community link and access to their favorite Amps. Functionality includes:
Find: Search the Web (results provided by Yahoo! and Teoma) and for Amps using the search box located in the companion toolbar.
Collect: By simply pointing and clicking, people can collect up to 25 different pieces of content – pictures, text, flash, audio and video – into a single page called an Amp.
Save: Amps can be saved and accessed from a “My Amps” list on the companion toolbar or by visiting www.amplify.com.
Share: Amps can be shared as a single link with anyone, whether or not they have Amplify installed, via email, instant message, the Amplify community and/or the Web.
Community.- The Amplify Community is a public forum for Amp sharing, search and discussion providing Amplify users with the option to showcase their favorite Amps to a wider audience.
The Amplify Community lets users post their Amps in various interesting categories including shopping, politics, travel, entertainment, finance, pictures, health and more. Both Amplify users and non-users are able to view, comment and rate Amps. Additional features include Top Amps syndication and RSS technology which allows popular newsreaders to pull real-time Amp feeds from every category.
