AMD loses a great Posted by Michael on 16 Apr 2007 - 19:18

In the world we bloggers live in, there are PR Guys, and Marketing Guys, these guys tend to have one purpose in mind, and that is to get us to see only the good side about a company and or product. But then there are the few great guys that work in PR and Marketing that give it to you like it is and build a trusting relationship with you. No PR spin, but out right truthfulness and help.
Well today I have learned that AMD is losing one of those Great Guys. The Great guy being Chris Aarons.
If you do Google search on Chris Aarons form AMD you will find post after post after post of nothing but love for the guy.
When I first met him in October 2006 he was easy to get along with and actually helped us set up a PC build guide here at HardwareGeeks.com, he also put us in touch with other companies outside of AMD, he's always been willing to answer the stupidest of questions we have had, and whenever he is in town dinner was on him.
Chris Aarons engaged us, brought bloggers big and small the same information, as long as you were willing to listen, he shared it with you. No pressure from him to write about anything or to change the way you may write about the company he represents. He respected us as bloggers and I am pretty sure those of us who have had the honor to work with him respect him just as much. He also never waited for you to call him, he would call you and ask how you were doing and keep you up to date on various projects. He is in my opinion and I am sure others will agree that he is the greatest, he floated like a butterfly and stung like a bee. Oh wait that's Mohammad Ali.
If every company had a Chris Aarons, I am sure their PR and Marketing departments would do a far better job than what they currently do, because the knowledge he has and the smoothness in the way he does what he does, doesn't fail.
But there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, while his days at AMD are limited; he is starting a new company called Buzz Corps. (http://buzzcorps.com temp site) Buzz Corps is going to help companies and bloggers unite in the same successful way he united AMD and Bloggers.
If you are interested in getting in contact with Chris Aarons then send me an email or private message through our forums and I will get you in contact with him.
