Today wirefly announced a sharp growth in the smartphones sales and has released a list of the five most popular smartphones.
Wirefly says that in the first quarter of 2007 sales of smartphones grew 70% from the third quarter of 2006. Wirefly attributes the sharp increase too, more awareness of smartphones by the general public do to national advertising programs and an increased selection that is thinner and more stylish. We here at HardwareGeeks.com also believe that a lot of teens have outgrown their sidekicks and are upgrading to something more adult like.
"Smartphones are no longer just high-tech toys for IT specialists or mobile offices for business executives." "The general public is now starting to embrace QWERTY keyboard smartphones as versatile cell phones for everyday use. Also, a wider audience is attracted by the availability of slimmer, more pocket-friendly smartphones packed with fun and useful applications," said Wirefly president Brian Westrick.
The best-selling smartphones on Wirefly.com announced at the beginning of 2007 are a representation of the market trend that is widening the smartphone customer base.
