That’s when you can get yours and how much you would pay. That is if you live in Japan. Sony today announced the release date and price for its new portable game system. But don’t worry the PSP will arrive in the US in March.
The PSP will launch along with 21 games. The PSP weighs 260 grams, measuring 170 by 74 by 23 millimeters, with a 4.3-inch-wide screen.
The PSP is Sony’s answer to Nintendo’s DS. Although the PSP is 35 dollars more expensive then Nintendo’s new handheld expected to be released November 21st in the US it is expected that the Sony PSP will outsell the Nintendo DS. If it does this will be a drastic blow to Nintendo who has dominated the Gaming Handheld market for years.
PSP outsell ds? Sorry, I don't buy it. The psp may be better in some ways but the battery life sucks. That, and it's only coming out in march in us. By then nintendo will have sold over 2 million ds units, maybe even 3 mill. Sony is dead.
LOl pre orders are getting to full gamespot allready stoped. There is no way psp will take out the Ds in sales.
Dont give me the gamecube shit. This is handheld where PSP has to go up against the ds and its 70 dollar GBA sp witch mind you has over 150 million systems sold worldwide.
OVer 2 million DS's will be sold in the frist freaking month its going to be nuts.

the nintendo Ds is gonna blow the psp apart - psp isnt even in the top 5 hardware list, DS is in second and it isnt even out yet!!! Can any sony fan boys answer to that............no DS is gonna revolutionize while psp is gonna rot
I think that both systems will be successful. People will buy the DS, lots of people - but those people will be younger than those who buy the PSP, in general terms. Talking about the general market, not necessarily people who talk in these kinds of forums, the two products are aimed at essentially different markets. Sure there will be people who are old who buy the DS, and people who are young who buy the PSP - but in general market terms they are apart.
Of course, only time will tell if one ends up "beating" the other - but I think there is potential for them to coexist. It is also a good thing that there is finally going to be competition in the handheld market, forcing better quality products and lower prices. I know that Nintendo has been producing new ideas lately, but if you look at the early gameboy, they sold essentially the same product for well over ten years. Now, you could argue that this indicates a quality product - and sure, it WAS - but competition can only be good for the consumer, as newer, more exciting products at lower prices will appear.
Sony succeeded in wresting control of mainstream gaming in the last generation, and now, at the end part of this generation of consoles, it is Sony and Microsoft. Nintendo fans cannot fail to see that Nintendo is easily the bronze medal - purely in terms of sales (please note Nintendo fans, I am not implying that the Gamecube is a sub-quality system). This blatant attack on Nintendo's home territory in the handheld gaming world will likely, I think, result in a split market - with Nintendo continuing to own the younger market.
I loved Gameboys as a child, and also through my early teens - and I still appreciate Nintendo's continual efforts to bring new ideas and innovation into games - but I also like the prospect of mature games material in a handheld which is offered by the PSP. The features of the PSP such as films and music are also attractive. Nintendo's main argument for not including DVD players and other non-gaming features into the GCN was that it wanted to focus purely on games, and this is a noble aim, but it did, I fear, lose them the battle for control of this generation of consoles.
Personally, I like the look of the PSP, if Sony can reassure me as to the battery life, and I will probably end up getting one. But on the same foot, I can see myself five or so years ago in my very early teens really wanting the DS. As I am now, I am more attracted to the types of games on the PSP, and as such want one more than a DS, but that's not to say that I wouldn't pass up, even now, a game of hectic Wi-Fi Mariokart......

People here are pretty blind. To say Nintendo has lost against XBox and PS2 already, is ignorance. With a sell through of roughly the same ~ 15million units worldwide, there is no third place in consoles - And Xbox fanboys, remember this!
Nintendo has some franchises that other companies - Sony, and MS cannot replace. No matter who they think they are, and so Nintendo will always have a marketable audience of sizeable proportions - Mario, Pokemon, Zelda, and so on. DS will sell fine, to those people, and PSP will sell fine as well to the PS2 likes of this world.
Its MS here that should be worried - they are going to have customers around christmas trying to decide where to put their money - DS, PSP, PS2 Slim, Xbox, GC - with the entry of DS and PSP, the choice for an Xbox, PS2 and GC has then been reduced! While these are different machines, parents dont see that, they see a games machine for xmas at similar proce points. This is the battleground this xmas, and Id watch Xbox sales, I am betting a bit of a serious drop for them.
I dont care what peple be say about the psp because once it comes its going to distroy the ds in evry way. one the ds grapic is noting compare to the psp .pepole be thinkthat the ds is is better because its going to have that stupid thing that tells the charectors what to do``THAT IS WAK!!!!. Oh and one more thing is that the psp games is gingto be better then the ds games for example METAL GEAR ACID or NEED FOR SPEED UNDERGROUND and for last is GRANDTORISMO4.
The DS will be a better geme system because i believe that you can chat on the ds . But poor psp cant do that and you can touch the screen um HAaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!! PSP cant do that and you can tell the game what to do. the PSP will come out on march 2005 for those people that would like to know. and the price that i saw was $399.99. ya dont have to beilieve me but its true. And the DS will come out for $199.99 on November 21,2004 but let's thank Nintendo that they lowerd the price down and it will cost $149.99. And that is all. ^ dude your stupid.. PSP is not even on the top 10 most expected hardware in japan. Ds is number 2 with over 2 million pre orders. and its number 3 in the USA with over 1.5 million pre orders.
Your going to be dissapointed to see the outcome .. DS! all the way. Better games/ more support/ Cooler ideas/

the DS is coming out right before the christmas rush, and plus some of the people travelling for the hollidays will want something to do in teh car so they might buy one for that, so i believe between that and all the pre-orders it is going to do VERY well. One thing that i really like about the DS is that it can play gameboy advance games, so not only will nintendo get sales of their new games they will also get old game sales, also, i love the new concepts nintendo is bringing into the gaming comunity. Although i admit the PSP is going to be really really cool, and it will have amazing graphics, its coming out in march, so not many people will be buying it for a holiday, or travelling, and about the dvds, they are going to have to be remade for the PSP onto the smaller disks, or w/e it uses i forget, which means some film makers wont do it because it might not get many sales, and then i kno personally i would want a normal dvd over a dvd that i can only use in my handheld, and also if the battery life on the PSP is as bad as they say, then you might not be able to make it through a whole movie, so i dont see how movies on it is going to be so great.
Anyways in my mind the DS will have a great number of sales, and the PSP will too but i think that the DS will have more.

well, history lesson to everyone out there. There have been many companies that tried to overthrow nintnedo in the handheld gaming industry that have claimed better graphics and more features: Neo geo pocket, Game gear, wonderswan, etc. they all failed because ppl want simplicity when it comes to handheld gaming. the PSP will be like the game gear and hang with the DS for a year or more but will eventually falter, why because the PSP will be like a Swiss army knife, it has alot of bells and whistles but it will not be great in any one department. DS is concentrated to one thing, gaming. If I wanted to watch a movie, I have a DVD player. listen to bootleg music? a computer. my point is the PSP will falter because it is a jack of all trades which seems odd but in the long run makes sense. and the DS looks upgradeable with the cartridges and I'm pretty sure some nerd from Georgia Tech will figure out a way to get MP3 and DIVX clips to play on the DS.

it seems you are very mistaken. The PSP will have a base model just under 200(released in Japan at just under 185-on the current exchange rate(i dont think that will vary much))and a Value Pack at 235(1800mah LI-ION batt, soft case, 32mb flash drive(mem Stik Duo)----i believe the DS is under 800mah--- putting the PSP run time 4-6 gaming and 4-5 hours on the movies(runs on the new mini disk that stores 1.5@GB------(insert "damn, why did i waste 150 bucks on this stupid DS)-------. The DS has failed to produce a good launch in the game stance, there are corny remakes and half way descent racing games. You will wake up one day and forget the old Nintendo pride, the fact is they cant compete with the DS.
The Psp, with no doubt offers better graphics, better games, and yes just like the Ds Wireless mulitplayer and USB(variant) multiplayer. I'm sorry you wasted your money on the DS. You might be able to trade it in for a few bucks towards the PSP...?GrandTurismo, Project Interceptor, Need For Speed, the liste goes on of the games that are planned for the release early 2005. Hope you wake up Ds owners.

o yeah by the way for all of u people who dont know the psp is coming out at the end of march. in 2005 and i will check again but i dont think thats before christmas!!!!!!!! so many people will have the ds before the psp even comes out and most people dont need 2 handhelds, besides the ds will be way better. does the psp have have 2 screens no how about voice recongnition no how about touch screens that u can use with a stylus or ur finger, nope the psp dosnt have any of them. thats only a couple of reasons why the ds is better than the psp. So psp fans i will laugh in ur faces when i have my ds and ur still waiting months later for ur precious psp, and when u get it u reliaze u made a mistake in buying the psp because u know the ds is way better.

just to clear things up about the PSP playing DVDs. NO it will not play DVDs because the drive format is UMD a "new" sony creation which looks a hella lot like the failed Minidisk format. so you PSP fans that plan on taking you precious battery sucking PSP on road trips to watch DVDs, better start saving to buy the same movies in UMD format. Also, the MP# thing really is a gimmick. I recently purchased the 32 mb memory stick from sony to see how many MP3 songs I could fit on it...8. 8 frickin songs. Don't try to compare the PSP to an Ipod because the Ipod has a 20 gig hard drive. that is why the Ipod can hold like 8 million songs. ppl if you raise your expectations too high then your gonna get burnt. I did with the DS and even it is not all its cracked up to be. oh yeah and if you live in the middle georgia area catch my show. wassup yall,have u seen the graphics on the demo of the ds yet. the metroid prime hunters demo i mean they are amazing and the demo comes with it when u buy it. i mean ill take a demo any time with the system i buy because most systems dont. the graphics are amazing for a handheld. the psp would maybe sell more if it was coming out before christmas. the ds is comin out before christmas which is another reason why it is going to sell better than the psp beside the fact that the ds is way better in games and graphics.
Personally i am loving the DS, and about the games, there are over 100 games that are supposed to come out next year, now i dont kno if they all will, but i can still buy hundreds of gameboy advance games while im waiting, hey, i could even get a couple of the gameboy advance video things, then, wait, im watching, MOVIES on my DS, so whats so special about the PSP, i kno for sure htat i wouldnt waste money on the UMD formats, i will buy real DVDs and watch them, and, personally, i love hte graphics on the DS, they are better than the Nintendo 64, and considering, those graphics are quite good, and around here where i live, its hard to fine a DS because they are just about all sold out, and whats this, the PSP hasnt even been released yet.... wow, sonys off to a good start in the handheld market
Honestly I don't like the Nintendo DS because it has two screen. I went to the Wal Mart store and try out the Nintendo DS and I has to look at two screen same time while I am playing the game, and most of the games cut half of the graphic animation picture in two pictures, and I have to look at two screens same time to watch the graphic animation of the game in the Nintendo DS. The PSP has only one screen, which I can watch at one thing and control in same place, not two. I would perfer PSP better. Also in fact, I saw the previews of PSP comparison to Nintendo DS, my opinion is that PSP is better. Also wisely, I am not going to buy Nintendo DS even though it was already arrived. I think it is more wise to buy PSP because it don't have any stupid accessoriable like "Drawing the E-mails" which people don't want to use for their handheld games. Also the Nintendo DS will charge the monthly bills for that e-mail system, but PSP probably won't. Also the Nintendo DS don't have enough of backlights so I can see the screen clearly myself. I rather to wait for PSP. Thanks for listen.

both systems cannot, contrary to popular belief, cannot connect to a wirless network and get internet access. the wireless features in the two systems act like a LAN line so that ppl within 100 feet from you can join multiplayer games. the E-mail chat thing is a chat room for ppl within 100 feet from your DS and not an e-mail account. by the way Zack, Nintendo dosn't even have online on the Gamecube and on Phantasy star you pay Sega and not nintendo.
P.S. If any corporation is trying to suck our money out of our pockets then they are Microsoft and Sony.
Just a Bystander, if the Nintendo DS is not online handheld, then why I see the pictures of the Nintendo DS with the e-mail screens with the drawn smile face? And also not only Sony or Mircosoft are money sucker, ALL of the company are money suckers. All they want is money, that is why their business is so "ECOMONIC". Also in fact, Nintendo have worked hard for many years, and may I ask, what do they want? They want the money to successful their business. Money is the key to surivive the business. All of the companies are the money suckers. Also I never had heard about Xbox Portable... Also I think it is waste of time using the touchable screen because I was at the Wal Mart, I stare at the pen on the Nintendo DS and simply drop it and use the regular controller. Also the reason why the PSP was not in the Top 10 is because they haven't gettin the PSP in pre-orders or shipped yet. Also the reason why the Game Cube is so much cheaper than Playstation 2 is because Game Cube don't have playable of DVD player, and has to buy other machine for the DVD player on the Game Cube. the pics you are seeing is the pictochat feature on the DS. when I first opened my DS I thought it could connect to a wirless hub but sadly not. although it does recognize the hub. the picto chat feature only works if there is another DS within 100 feet of your DS. meaning you could pass notes in class but not when your buddy is in chicago and you are in Atlanta. hopefully a third party group will come out with a cartridge that allows you to email from the DS. and the PSP looks great and felt great in my hands but the one flaw I felt on the PSP at the Tokyo Game Show was that the demo PSP's Anolog stick did not retract like I hoped so the thing wouldn't break in my carry on when I go on trips to...Tokyo. Hopefully the final version has a way to protect the anolog stick from any damage. and you are right about the Pre orders on the PSP. and I understand what economics are and what i meant was that nintendo releases add-ons that you don't need but enhance your game play. microsoft mainly releases bugged items and software that require upgrading and with sony, they release consoles like the PS2 slim...that I bought even though I have a PS2 already. I know nintendo does that to that's why I have all three consoles.
Hey, You guys need to get the facts straight and do your research in mags and so on. Look Sony has been the top leading new generation provider in gaming since 3-d times. It has shown quality and great support of it's sytem. I have grown up on sony. I was six when i got my first playstaton and the graphics were steller and the cg scenes are still top notch on that old system. I thinkt that we shouldn't keep on trying to get new systems out all and make the game quality better before we move on. But this sony going into handheld will be awesome. It has been my fream forever. The psp is not only goign to stomp ds in older viewings, it will also appeal more to developers. It has a technology that automatically rounds squares into polygons. It will take half the work to develope a game than what we have been creatign them at. Which means that the psp will have hundreds of titles after people realize this. I played the ds at best buy the other day. It was only half as appealing as the psp seems. It was very small to my hands. My hands cramped after the first few mintues of play. The buttons are very close and the d-pad is small. I think this system is made for little kids hands. plus when i was playing metroid. I had to use the touch-pad while trying to make the charecter turn into a ball and move in other directions that the d-pad is allowing your charecter to move. You practically need three hands to do everythign that the games are askign you for and it was frustrating. You will definatly need tsome skill just to handkle the systems controls. I don't think I will buy the system untill I see how the psp is. But i love only mario on the ds and i love basically abotu every singl;e game made on the playstation. Playsation has my vote and my cousins votew because we love playstation more than any other console. IT has shown it's own support in graphics and hasn't relied much on any company to help make graphics and as long as they keep on relying ont hemself for graphics I thinkt hey will do just fine. I don't think x-box and nintendo will be able to keep up because they have support with ati and I don't think that shows good signs for future systems. BEcause sonys ps3 so far as it goes. there is no comp that can keep up with their new ideas. So i would say watch out thrd generation 3-d gaming. There is an old name out to prove everyone wrong. Just because nintendo has been out three gaming systems longer doesn't mean sony is bad. It means it's greater in every aspect and is thinking way beyond the outside of everyone elses box. Alls they need to do is get game developers to see that. Why doy ou thinkt hat they create awesoem game sont heir own , just to show developers the true power of their system.
Honestly, I think nintendo needs to grow up soem before they rerelaease nay new system after thsi ds and realize things are very hard allreayd on them int he market.

The DS would never outsell the PSP. Most of these people going pro DS are hardcore Nintendo fans and oldschool gamers. Despite the fact Sony traditionally releases later than Nintendo statistics show Sony always ends out dominating on top! Even though Sony is much newer to the gaming scene relative to Nintendo, Sony always prooves more popular. I've played the DS and it is just my OPINION that the DS could have been much better, I was not very impressed with it's akward design and under par graphics. By the way, you can not judge graphics by screen shots on the internet. DS looks like Nintendo 64 games, which mostly failed horribly. After seeing the actual, yes in REAL life a Sony PSP. The graphics appear to be near that the level of the PS2. Sweet! Sony PSP also has compatibility with WiFi 800.11G wireless, MP3 Files, they are releasing movies on UMD(sonys PSP format), and compatibility with Sony Memory Sticks. Also has onboard 1.5GB storage. I'm sorry DS fans (I also happen to be a hardcore Mario fan) but PSP will most deffinatly dominate. Just look into history. Nintendo (N64 and later) systems have all failed.
Alright, I'v heard alot about battery life and so on yada yada yada. First of all who plays a GBA or DS for 10 hours straight to begin with. Second of all, nintendo just made a move that again distroys its chances of keeping up with the competition. I remeber when they decided to stick with carts for the 64 and who swept them away. SONY DID. . .

Nintendo's major fault is that they stick to technology that they already know. Im glad that the DS has some really neat features like chat rooms but its only a matter of time before sony drops an add on (USB PORT)... Also its awesome that it has a great battery life but SONY took that into account and did what nintendo should have done. GONE TO CD, one mistake that cost them there place in the console market may bite them in the @ss again in the handheld market.
But then again, SONY and NINTENDO are after two different market all together.... I'v said my peace
all of yall are who hate on ds are dumbassess because when i played it in metroid prime in bestbuy it was actually easier to aim wit the screen than a regular controller because it was easier to slide your finger to the target than to guide using a d pad plus psp only has one so i fill sorry for people who like shooting games
True, shooting games are going to be tough on the psp. But still, sony has been great with making use of what they have. Allthough a second thumb stick would have been nice. But that genre is the only up side in game play the ds has.

On top of that it has software upgrades meaning that a phone book and email support might not be that far fetched of an idea down the road. I'm not saying that DS wont but it is mostly for kids.

You have a good point with the movies but if u have looked at it the screen is not that much smaller then a good priced dvd portable. Granted you might only be able to watch like two movies before it goes dead. But maybe square enix might make more movies which i hope they do. I'm a fan of CGI movies. ould you imagine a DBZ movie CGI ooooooooooooooooooo the violence!
My point is that nintendo could have made the graphics better with all thos sweet features on it. And you have to admit that it is a bit uncomfortable to hold. The bast chasis they ever made was the original advance.
Dont get me wrong i love nintendo i grew up on there games. But sony just makes better games for an older crowd. Personaly i just want to play need for speed underground whenever i want...lol
Im not expecting shooters to be fun in all honesty but raceing, RPG's, and fighters should be nice.
You hold up a good argument tho MYSTERY MAN. You can do alot of neat things with the DS, but are you really expecting to be in a chat room that often with it? The older crowd will love the psp, Think about the mp3 play back and the camera feature they are working on. The USB port will allow the PSP to do alot that the DS wont be able to do.
And not for nothing i played metroid without the stylus and after a while it plays pretty well u just have to get used to it. im asuming thats how the PSP will get around not having the second dialog stick.
O and reading up on battery life it does get up to about 5-6 hours. Not bad for a disc based system and im sure as they start to use the memory cards more efficiantly the bat time will go up since it wont have to load from the disk as much
O yea and one more thing, whats so inovative about taking an n64 hack and cramming it down into a handheld, and adding some wireless features. and a second screen. hmmm not to inovative, the only thing it has inovative is the touch screen.

Bottom line is that people are going to fall in love with the PSP for the Grfx. And no prices have been posted for the psp games as of yet. And i am sure that the PSP will not sell for more than 200 in order to keep up with the DS.
But like i said the PSP is for a different market all together. Thats why the DS is so small its not for adults its for kids. And keep dreaming about seeing blood on a DS nintendo does not allow it. They specifically said that there systems are for younger crowds and dislike violent games.
The PSP is manly designed for high school and up. And yes kids in that age bracket will buy it knowing games like mortal combat and gran tourismo will be coming out for it. And mind you the connectivity with the PS2 and PS3 have not been mentioned yet but they do plan on it.
The mic feature on the DS is cool, but i dout ill see people in the mall sitting around chatting up a storm with the DS thats what cell phones are for.
Again my point is that it is going to attract a different market then the DS is going to attract. Tru having a scond screen will make game play a bit more interesting but it depends on the developer and how they decide on useing that second screen. Plus games are going to be made easier and faster on a PSP than a DS. The technology the PSP is packing is already backed up by most developers. Where as the DS isnt.
The PSP will make great use of what it has and im sure if you read on IGN.COM you'll see that the system is gorgeous and the guys over at IGN are loving every minute of it.

1) 007 goldeneye was the best out of all after that they all sucked.
2) Resident evil just started coming out for the game cube. Lucky them that the developer decided to work with there software.
3) All you have to say is "it has the second screen" But guess what we have been playing with handhelds without a second screen for years now and having a second screen is no big shit.
4) As always nintendo is trying to get intop violent games after SONY has already beating them. Like ussual they come into the game too late. First with making cartriges instead of cd's for the N64. And now they do the same with adult video games.
There was a point when they swore them off. But now that they see SONY and MICRSOFT is making more money off them they want a piece of the action.
Gues what buddy your proclaimed GAMECUBE will probably be the last console they will make. Less and less developers want to make games for it.
Most of NINTENDO's profit comes from its handheld market not the console. Say bye bye to the nintendo console because if another one is released it wont sand a chance against the upcoming PS3 and next gen X-BOX.
Nintendo does not have the developers to compete with SONY or MICROSOFT. Face it man, NINTENDO is on it's last legs. If the DS doesnt do what is expected of it the company will just develop games like SEGA. Look up there stock ticker man, the stock has been gradually declining the past 5-7 years. And this has been discussed with them already and they agreed, if they cant keep up in the console wars they will go to developing games and stop making consoles.

December 2nd te DS was release in Japan. Deceber 11th PSP was released.
Mind you the Japan DS launch had more games then the US DS launch.
I have a DS as well but I would really be a dumbass to say the DS is better.
I have the URBz and yesterday I beat the game pissed daddy big bucks off.
If you have asphalt urban gt for the DS then you are also aware that it is one of the buggiest games available. The miami races in the championship mode only last 1 lap even though they are 3 laps.

Good news DS fans!!! Nintendo just announced that they will be latter releasing a perifrieal that fits into the GBA slot and alows the DS to playback MP3/Mpeg4 files onto the DS. This upgrade was put inplace because alot of ppl liked the feture on the PSP so Nintendo naturally retaliates. Also the are releasing a TV tuner for the DS...remember the Tuner for the good ole' Gamegear? more cool upgrades are in the works and we should be expecting the upgrade in late december or early january.

Hey gamers, just got my hands on the new PSP. The battery life is acceptable and on a full charge the battery indicator read 5 hours. not a whole lot compared to the DS but it is better than the projected 2 hours. however, I'm still wondering how it would perform with the movies or the higher graphics of more advanced games. sadly I only got to play Majong fight club. The memory stick can play the mp3's and an mpeg's. the dashboard is where you launch everything. The cool thing is the calender changes colors with the months. the screen is huge and scratchable. when you buy this thing buy some screen guards too. The screen is also very bright and crisp. Also the thing can get pretty heavy. almost 10 ounces on the scale. Also Sony anounced that, like the DS, the PSP would be region free. It's not. this means with the DS you can play Japanese and european games on the american DS. the PSP is alot like the consoles where you can only play American games on the American PSP. :( All in all the PSP is pretty cool but it did not live up to the hype that was buzzing around the office. and neither did the DS. I own the DS and will probably be geting the PSP when it is released in March because its free for me. but, for you gamers out there that don't get the best things in life for free, buy a PS2 slim and a mobile screen. The portable basically has re-releases of classic PS2 games. and for you RPG fans out there, it looks like square-enix is backing the DS. don't believe me? check the square-enix website. I guess its all in the cards that both systems can co-exsist but if it was my decision I would pick the DS eventhough the thing is more of a bitch to hold than the PSP.

Thanks michael ill try that out later but if people r shooting game fans then they should definetly get the ds. i mean playing with the stylus is awseome and u get metroid prime free which is a great fps. i love using the stylus i might check out the psp depending on the price, i have a magazine that said the psp was 188 when released in japan and it came with a memory stick and other stuff. But im only 14 and im not made of money so ill have to see. i hope they make goldeneye rogue agent for the ds.

The PSP that came with the memorystick is actually a part of a separate package. for like 20 dollars more you get a carrying case and a 32 meg memory stick.

so that gets rid of the mp3 part of the psp being better, now i realize the psp has better graphics, but I personally (being a DS fan) really enjoy the touch screen, and am verrrrrry excited to play rpgs with it, and graphics arnt needed to have a good story line, but it adds alot of inovative features to games, for instance the urbs for the GBA is almost exactly the same as the one on hte DS but the DS has the ability to use the touch screen, and it makes the game play alot more fun
with the ability to play MPEG4 the DS will be able to play videos, now, it wouldnt be a full movie, because you wouldnt be able to fit a whole video on to a flash card but it would be still cool being able to watch say a short music video.

I dont see why i would even buy the thing for the DS, i would much rather spend money on an mp3 player, or just get bateries for my mp3 cd player, where i already can fit like 500 songs, then sort them into folders, and its RW so in my oppinion the mp3 playing isnt very impressive, i just put that up 2 show that its really an advantage of haveing the psp as a mp3 player, and I personally am loving the DS games, I was at a party last night, and the metroid demo's multiplayer was more fun(agreed by everyone who played it) then the metroid prime Echoes multiplayer, but we played Echoes more cuz we only had 2 DS's and we had 4 GC controllers

got ridge racer and spiderman 2 for the ds and they both are pretty good. if u have the ds and u want a good racing game go pick up ridge racer because it is way better than asphalt urban. the grapchics and gameplay are much better on ride racer. asphalt urban is very choppy and not as much fun. spiderman 2 is alright but i didnt see any upgrades from the gba version so i cant recomend it. so ds owners get ridge racer and also sm64.

Isn't all DS games are choppy? lmao, all their games got crappy graphics, make bad games look even worst.
Just about everything on a DS is aim for kids. Look at their pictochat, two kids can send drawing messages to each other at 15 ft. A baby could use it for drawings too. 99.999999% of DS games are for kids. To older gamers, dam just wasted $40 and still can't find a good game. To kids and kids that never touch an PSP, dam these games are so great and best graphic ever on a handheld. Even the DS processors, graphic capabilities, wifi are as slow as a kid's brain, that why they can't see that the Sony will own Nintendo anytime anywhere any platform. The DS released first before Christmas, so it does have a little edge. Who is more to worry than the Nintendo people.

Of course the first games for the ds didnt get decent ratings. they are first generation ds games and some of them do have bad graphics(madden 2005) do u remember the first say ps2 games. the graphics sucked compared to the newer ps2 games. ds games in the future will have better graphics. learn some more about the ds before u dis it. i noticed u didnt say anything about the pictochat or about the range of the multiplayer. is this because u know that iam right huh? wat did u say im right huh? yeah iam right dont waste on ds.
or an even better comparisation, the PS games when it fist came out, compared to the PS games when they stopped making games for it, (some of hte games were wireframe at teh start) alot of the games dont depend on the hardware at first, as time goes on people will understand the programming language for the system better, and they will be able to make better graphics and use of the features of it, so for the first wave of games, the graphics on it are quite good considering, and for madden 2005 the reason why the graphics are bad is because they just threw the game together very quickly

Now you know why they have keyboard for PSP. Web Browsing gonna be awsome. You can't browse on DS because of the small screen, but with the PSP's screen there is no trouble for browsing the net and more than enough processing power to view sites with movies, music, ect... Dream Machine

As for the psp all together, the battery wont last long and some people have been complaining about the buttons getting stuck.
Games are also set to be sold for 39.99 which is about 10 bucks cheaper than the jap game releases which range from 40 - 50 bucks when it was first released.
The system seems to be a goo for next month but good luck because most of the eb's have stoped taking orders because of the amount of requests. The games are going to be sick and no way in hell will the ds keep up with the power that the psp is packin.
But remember both systems are made for two different demographics. DS is more for the teens where as Sony is aiming more for the 18-35 range or something like that.

wat^ guys. if u own a ds u need to buy warioware touched. i know it sounds stupid but this game is so awseome, by far the best game out for the ds. o and if u are wondering if ridge racer or asphalt urban is better get asphalt urban. also ontherun im sure u have a gameboy too so shut the fuck up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PSP iz gunna rule Handz down.....it will be able 2 last awhole mivie it last about 5 to 6 hourz battery life...yea it sucks but hey it comes free with a 32mb memory disc so u could put your favorite songz in there when u get bored... Its just gunna sell uot the DS i actually have a Nintendo DS and all da utha Nintendo's and in a couple of weekz im sick of it da ds is nothing special to me sure its great but the psp lookz much more sleek n modern, and it also contains many features. The best part is that the games are much more mature and the graphics are going to be better because the PSP graphics are between the graphics of the PS1 and the PS2 in where the nintendo DS has the graphics of the 64. So all i got 2 say is noone is really expecing it but the PSP os going to slell out the DS and become Big.-PSP LUv-
No way, Mario 64 and Wario are the best right now. PSP has same old console games that is less quality than PS2 and don't have a 2nd joystick. Also you have to buy a screen protector and memory stick for it.

ridge racer they bought that off ps1 origionally i jerkes i have the freaking thing up my game collection right now its not even about the the gaming really its about the fact that you can put music on the psp and watch dvds and display photos i even heard they are making it able to go on the internet wire less you stupid ds rules the psp probably make more money the play station s always beaten the the nintendo

just got ridge racer on the psp its awseome!!! do u know if ebgames is having a deal??? i mean a trade in offer. trade in 3 console games(gamecube, ps2, xbox) and get a free psp game. but i heard that the games r on a certain list!!!! cant wait to get twisted metal head on!!!!!!!!

p.s. RR is way better than NFSUR!!!!!!! and its cheaper but its very hard to find. went to get it a circuit city and they were out so i went to walmart(lol) and they had one left!!!!!!!!!!!! and they had about 20 or more psp left!!!! so if u cant find a psp go to walmart!!!!
i have psp and ds and the psp is so much more cooler than the ds by far. You can do so much more stuff and when i play a game i can get up to 8 hours of battery life so thats not even bad cause the ds gets around 10
