If you ask a group of ten-year-olds what they want to be when they grow up, I'm almost willing to bet you'll hear at least one who wants to be a captain of a jumbo jet. Most people eventually shelve this idea and end up working in a regular job, then one day they wonder, what if? What if I had decided to pursue a career as an airline pilot instead of working as a garbage-man? Well (according to the box) Microsoft's flight simulator has been around for twenty-five years to give a taste of what life could have been like. Let's see if Microsoft's latest effort will please all the childhood fantasies that you ever had, I am of course referring to Flight Simulator X (FS X).
Installing:
As any fan of the Flight Simulator will know, the series has long required an installation time matched only by the construction of the Great Wall of China and FS X is no exception. I had enough time to go downstairs make myself a salad sandwich and a coffee before the first disc had even finished copying. Finally just as I was finishing my sandwich the first disc finished so I inserted the next one and went off to go and get myself an ice cream. I returned just as the epic install was drawing to a close some 20 minutes after I had started.
