Windows users in the UK angry at Vista Price difference Posted by Michael on 09 Mar 2007 - 18:59

Microsoft Windows users in the UK are angry that Windows Vista cost almost double in the UK than it does in the US.
Microsoft says they price their software according to taxes, duties and other market conditions in the region. The UK has a rather high Value added tax of 17.5%. Some are also saying that the higher prices in the UK have to do with the fines levied against Microsoft by the European Commission.
A petition started by Paul Milne has already gathered over 8,600 signatures. If you would like to sign the petition here is a link:
Those of you who sign the petition should also consider condemning the European Commission, they should have known such fines would force Microsoft to raise prices, and lawmakers who enacted such a high VAT are responsible as well.
