Well, here is the Official Information straight from the Microsoft Beta Program. Please Read More for the whole package. Hope you all enjoy this release of the latest build.
Quote:We are pleased to announce the availability of interim build 2082 to allow you evaluate our progress towards the RC release of XP SP2. This build is not beta quality and you should take that into account when installing. While we believe the quality to be high, and the build very stable, always be sure to backup your data and be particularly careful when installing it onto any system that you can't be without for awhile. Please uninstall prior versions of the service pack before installing this build onto your system. This build should be applied to either Windows XP RTM, or Windows XP SP1.
Build 2082 contains a significant number of fixes and improvements since the initial beta release and we ask that you take some time to evaluate our progress and provide us with feedback on this build. We are particularly interested in any regressions from the beta release (things that worked in the beta release, but fail now).
Installation Information Collection (New for 2082) Starting with this build, and continuing for the duration of the beta only, you will be prompted to send installation data to us during update. We would appreciate very much if you would click "Send" on this dialog. The information we collect will allow us to better ascertain the kind of installation coverage we're getting when a build is released. This helps us determine if we have the right mix of Home and Pro, Update vs Slipstream, etc during the beta. If you are concerned about the information we send you can view the list at http://windowsbeta.microsoft.com/filecollector. The data we collect is completely anonymous.
Bugs & Problem Reports:
Please visit http://windowsbeta.microsoft.com and click "Issue Reporting" link on the left menu. The earlier a bug is filed, the more likely it will be fixed. Please don't delay filing issues that you encounter. You are encouraged to discuss these and other issues in the private beta newsgroups.
Install Survey:
Please visit http://windowsbeta.microsoft.com, Choose Survey then Install Survey to complete an installation survey as soon as you can. This data is important for us to measure and we rely on our sites to do this. Based on the number of surveys we get, we know that either many people don't install the beta, or install, but don't tell us about it. This is something you only have to do once per build and it doesn't take too long, please help us out here.
Availability:
The build is available for download at http://windowsbeta.microsoft.com/download/dl3.asp
Build 2082 will be available in English only.
Build 2082 will be available as Update immediately, Web Express will follow shortly. Slipstream, aka Integrated will NOT be available for this build. Update and Web Express will be available Monday afternoon, we anticipate that the supporting files will follow in about 24 hours.
The supporting files are the Symbols CD - "Customer Support & Diagnostics" and the update CD image.
Tablet PC Support:
Beginning with build 2082 of XP SP2 the service pack will update Windows XP Tablet PC Edition to 'Lonestar'.
Support for Media Center Edition:
Beginning with build 2082 of XP SP2 the service pack will install on Windows XP Media Center Edition.
Thanks for your continued testing and we look forward to your feedback on this build in the private newsgroups.

If it's a new build why have people spend time removing the old one :( IMO It'd be nice if we could just install over the current build rather than spend time uninstalling the old on then install the new one, but I guess that's the way the ball bounces w/MS beta.
