Yesterday in New York City Microsoft had their first annual open house, and at the event I was given an HTC Pure running Windows Phone (Windows Mobile 6.5). Microsoft is trying to get rid of the numbers in the OS name.

When I powered up the device and began to play with it. I said to my self HOLY COW THIS SHIT ROCKS! But the more I play with the phone the more I begin to see that 6.5 is half way to 7 for a reason. There is a lot of work MSFT needs to put into the Windows Mobile OS for it to be up to par with what Apple and Palm offer on their devices.

Microsoft took a huge leap from 6.1 to 6.5 a lot of improvements in the phone. They finally understand that the Smart Phone was no longer just a Business Phone and we should applaud them for that. Microsoft is headed in the right direction with their mobile offerings and Windows Mobile 6.5 is proof of that but as much as I like whats in 6.5 it’s the Mobile version Vista. I say that because it has a lot of innovation and improvements but it falls short.

AT&T Chief Executive Randall Stephenson said that his company is having a hard time filling 5,000 customer service Jobs in the US, because they can not find skilled workers.

“We’re having trouble finding the numbers that we need with the skills that are required to do these jobs,” He told a group of business professionals in San Anthonio Texas.

He went on to blast the US education system and said that the high school dropout rate is as high as 50% for some groups.

The RIAA has had a lot of crazy ideas over the past year; from suggesting that Anti-Virus programs scan your PC for illegal content, to having ISPs install filters on their network.

But now they have an idea to tax your internet bill 5 extra dollars a month, to compensate money they are losing to file sharing. The money would go into a pool and depending on an artist popularity that artist will get a bigger or smaller chunk of that money.

Last week, Microsoft announced UltimatePC.com, a website where people could go to learn about various computing scenarios and learn what products would suit them best to work in that scenario.

They also introduced Ultimate Exclusives, a bitch slap of sorts to Windows Vista Ultimate Customers.

When Microsoft last week announced the price cut on Windows Vista, I was shocked. I was shocked because Microsoft had cut the price on an OS that is only a year old. I was honestly surprised, and at the same time, I was happy because now Vista was cheaper and affordable to more people.

Since the anoucement, I have learned more details about the price cut, and I have come to the conclusion that it is not a price cut but an attempt by Microsoft to get some good press.

Hi everyone, most of you know me but for those who don’t I am Michael.

The purpose of this blog is basically to call companies out when they do something dumb, and just ask them. What the FUCK?
