I’ve been using the iPhone for two days now and I’ve got to say it’s quite an impressive device.  The keyboard is one of the many items that I thought I wouldn’t like, but I’m already quite used to it and can type w/o looking (though I’ve yet to do so w/o having many spelling mistakes).

Without going into a lot of details (you can read the plethora of iPhone reviews on the web) I’ll just outline a few observations I have made:

  • Phone reception is decent. I've got a Nokia E90 and N95 and both of these phones give me about 4-5 bars around my house. With the iPhone I've got at most 2-3 bars.
  • The email and SMS functionality is awesome
  • Not being able to Copy/Paste is irritating
  • Not being able to save images or files attached to emails is irritating. Any images that are attached to emails are getting embedded into the message body.
  • When navigating a site that requires authentication (me to log in), my session seems to be expiring a lot which requires me to log in like every other page.

The SDK/upcoming features information released earlier today makes the device more appealing to the corporate world. They mentioned various organizations such as Nike, Genentech, and Stanford who are using the push Exchange support. I'd like to see some reviews from anyone in those organizations other than the 3-4 line quotes they presented from the CIO's.

BTW, this was posted w/the iPhone.

You won’t see any damned quotes that aren’t pre edited by apple.

Glaring omission but that’s why I don’t let my iPhone delete mail on the server. That way it’s still there when I check it from one of my Macs.
