Our daughter site CellRants.com is reporting that Sprint has released an updated ROM for the HTC Mogul.
The new update will bring improved GPS functionality to the Mogul, along with support for EV.DO Rev. A which will give the Mogul double the download speed it currently has.
The Update is available from directly from HTC.
Change log for the new Rom:
1. Adds EV-DO Rev.A functionality for faster download and upload speeds when transmitting data wherever EV-DO Rev. A coverage is available.
2. Adds advanced GPS functionality including the software for Sprint Navigation.
3. Adds a Task Manager to the Today screen for easier access and management of Running Programs.
4. Improves Bluetooth performance including usage with Phone As Modem and wireless stereo headsets.
5. Corrects an issue where Windows Live Messenger content may be erased when the device power cycles

I hope that other sprint phones get EVDO REV A soon, I have the touch and I would love to get EVDO REV A on that.
ANyone know if the Touch can support GPS? If I am not mistaken the Mogul didn’t have GPS until after this rom update.

The Mogul did not have GPS until after the Update you are right, as if the HTC can support GPS, I am not sure, HTC website doesn’t say it can but it never said the Mogul could either until today.

I think my dad would love it too if the Touch had GPS in it because he wouldn’t have to get a GPS for his car he can just use the phone.
Im a tell him to wait a month or two to see what Sprint does.

I wouldn’t really trust a phone for a GPS unit, I would recomend a seperate GPS unit for the car.

well sprint sent the press release to cellrants.com not hardwaregeeks.com so i’ve made a decision if someone sends something to them then its their news not hwg news and vice versa.

my cousin got the mogul and I told her about the update, we checked out te speed before and after and it is soooo much faster now she said thank you for letting her know

I use this phone for my business and it’s just incredible. The GPS sweetens the deal even more so.
