Microsoft today has opened up Live Mesh to everyone who has a Live ID (Passport account). The Live Mesh service allows you to share your data remotely and allows you to create a web of computers that you can remotely connect to using remote desktop.
The service currently only works on Windows PC’s but it will eventually support Macs and Smartphones.
Only US users can sign up, but there are instructions on how to make it appear as your Machine is in the US.
