I received my first gadget to review a couple of weeks ago and since then, I haven’t stopped using it, and pretty much fell in love.  Fell so hard in love that even when I found tiny flaws, and I say tiny because the good outweighed the bad, I would try to use it even more, so that it could prove me wrong.  I know, I know, I’m such a freaking girl, even when it comes to things that don’t have emotions.

I received 2 boxes, one holding the magic – the JayBird JB-200 and another box w/ an extra Bluetooth adaptor for my iPod.  The directions for the headphones were very straight forward and didn’t contain fluff.  I hate reading unnecessary stuff, or having to search for answers, but this product didn’t have any of that – so I was very happy.

JaybirdI read everything and started charging the headphones.  Here is when it got a lil’ fishy.  The directions said to fully charge it, and that a red light would indicate it was charging.  Well that red light showed up as soon as I put it on its dock, and then disappeared.  I pushed the headphones in here and there, to make sure it lit up, and it did.  This may not really be a hiccup in the product; I believe the headphones were just packaged w/ a charged battery.

Pairing the headphones w/ my cell phone (Mogul 6800) was a piece of cake.  Pairing it w/ my iPod was also extremely easy.  Once you turn on the iPod, if you wait a couple of secs, a minute max, the adaptor’s light starts blinking and that shows it’s pairing with the headphones.

Once I had the headphones tightly secured I was jamming. The sound quality was so good on the headphones that I didn’t have to mess around w/ the volume.  They fit so snug that I was able to move, jump, dance around, etc and they still stayed put.  I had one of the most productive afternoons as home.  I cleaned my whole home, swept, mopped, etc. while having these bad boys in my ears.

I even received some calls and no one could tell that I had them on my Bluetooth.  The music simply stopped, I heard a little ring in my ear, and was able to click to pick up using the buttons on the headphones.

I’ve been jogging w/ the headphones and have used them on the trains, during rush hour, in NYC.  Like I said before, the headphones fit so well in your ear, and are so comfortable, that you can pretty much do everything without them interfering.  I never had to readjust them while I ran my miles.

One of its flaws is that once I received a call on the Bluetooth, my next call would ring in my ear, but when I picked up, the call would be on my cell phone.  I couldn’t quite understand why, and I thought it was just a mistake, but it happened time and time again.  It didn’t discourage me from using it though, I think it may be something wrong with my phone, I wouldn’t doubt it and if I had another phone I would be able to test it out, but since I don’t, I can’t. Sorry buds.

I loved being able to run w/o any stupid strings getting in my way, or feeling anything on my body in the hot, humid NYC days.

So here’s the recap.  The headphones are easy to use, very comfortable to wear, have great sound quality, allow you to move away from your iPod and phone at least 5 feet, last a long time and don’t easily fall out of your ear, nor do they need readjusting.  The headphone’s battery also lasts forever.  I charged it once, maybe 3 weeks ago, and have not yet charged it and I’ve been using them a lot.

On the other hand, the iPod adaptor never gets charged, so it uses up your battery.  I used my iPod for over 2.5 hours and my battery is a little over 2/3s full, so it’s something to keep in mind.  The buttons on the headphones are not the most comfortable because they’re pretty small and you have to press them somewhat hard.  It actually hurt my finger tips a bit, especially because I had to somewhat grip the headphone w/ my ear, to have a good grip, if not I couldn’t really press the buttons.

Despite the flaw w/ the calls, I would recommend everyone to try these headphones out.  If you have a long commute to work, like to work out, or like listening to music while doing things in your home (without bothering those around you) then this is for you! They also recently communicated that these headphones are sweat proof!!! (I think they spotted me running in the park and thought, damn, there go her headphones- haha) It helped me zone out when I needed to, I’m never giving these up!

The Jaybird Bluetooth Stereo Headset is available at www.JaybirdGear.com for $159.99, or you can get it at www.Amazon.com for 10 dollars cheaper.
