Today I am officially a member of Zipcar, and I am pretty darn excited.
If you don’t know what ZipCar is,visit ZipCar.com. Well I also can explain it. Basically i is like a co-op car rental service. You pay a yearly or monthly fee depending on your plan and you can rent a car for as little as 7 bucks an hour depending on your plan (That is if I did my math right). With the rental you get free gas and insurance. You just have to obey the rules, like keep the car clean etc. Those rules are easy rules to follow, but if you break them you can be hit with penalties which aren’t cheap.
I haven’t reserved a car yet, but from I have been told 99% of them are top notch cars, and you can rent anything from a cheap little mazda to a high end BMW. Of course the better the car the higher the rental fee.
Today when I signed up I was so anxious to become a Zipster I opted to pick up my card at their offices here in NYC, and boy am I glad I did because the receptionist, who was also the person that gave me my Zipcard which acts as the key to open the car, was probably the hottest women I ever seen so hot I was a bit flustered and what made things worst was her blose button was open and for some reason I couldn’t look at her I got all nervous. But I did tell her the button was open and she called me a sweetheart. I wish I could sign up again just to go back and pick up a new card to see her again.

Was it a latina? If it was I might of seen her when I picked up my card earlier this year. She’s ok I wouldn’t say Hot though, but then again I didn’t get the peek you got, and I would of stared.

being in nyc also, I’ve looked into becoming a member, but the way I figured it was you pay a membership fee every month/or year, BUT you still have to pay to use the car. And the rates aren’t much cheaper than simply renting a car for that odd time you use it. Add all that together and I figured I’ll just rent a car if I need it, or buy a car. I wound up just getting a car, an extremely used 1990 Geo Prizm virtually for free. It’s all I really need in the city to get out when needed - I hate the train schedules.

The fact that you don’t have to pay for gas or insurance on the zip car is what did it for me. 50 a year and rent the car once a month at 115 bucks, and not have to worry about gas or insurance is a lot cheaper IMO.
