Touch me touch me touch me, that is what the HP Touchsmart screams when you first lay eyes on it.
The HP Touchsmart is the new HUB PC ont he market, a HUB PC replaces in my opinion the freezer door because you no longer need to use a magnet to leave a note for the kids, you can leave a note on the touchsmarts screen.
With it’s elegant design it will fit in any home with any decor.
The Touchsmart has a 22 inch high def widescreen display and built in TV tuner, so it can double as a TV and I think it will go great in the kitchen, the only downside is that it is not wall mountable (just yet).
Powered by a Core 2 Duo, the Touchsmart is not a wimpy machine, it’s powerful enough to do some heavy multi tasking, such as blasting your favorite tunes or streaming a video.
Included is a wireless mouse and keyboard, both of which match the looks of the Touchsmart perfectly. You can reserve yours now at HP.com.
We will be posting a video review on the Touchsmart tomorrow staring Lucy Hedges! Check back soon.

Wall Mounting a HP TouchSmart PC
I have received over a 100 e-mails in the last week on how to mount the TouchSmart PC. There must be a real need for mounting this...Wake up HP! Here is how it is done:
I used a standard VESA mounting bracket for a monitor. I had to cut the ends off each of the 4 legs to get it to fit and re-drill 2 holes on the bottom side of the bracket. Extend the leg stand fully out all the way and use the locking switch on the stand to lock it into position. Next take off the back center cover plate that covers up the leg stand mounting plate. There is just 1 screw holding this plate. Peel up the back edge of the cover at the bottom just slightly to unsnap it and then slide the cover plate down. It will slip right off. It is much like a cell phone’s back cover plate to remove. Next remove the 4 screws holding the leg stand to the metal frame. The 2 top most screw holes will be reused for the new mounting bracket. The holes just miss being VESA spacing so the bracket will need to be drilled out to match these 2 holes. Next remove the screws that hold the larger back cover. Note there are 2 screws under the DVD drive plate (The plat snaps off) and 3 under the port bay. The top of the PC has plastic hinges and no screws. Now remove the metal Motherboard cover with the 12+ screws. Take the metal cover to your workbench and center the bracket and mark and drill the holes. Once that is done, mark and drill the up bracket holes. Note you will have to cut down the bracket on all 4 legs to make it fit. Once mounted put the metal Motherboard cover back on and then you will have to cut some of the plastic on the back cover to make it fit around the bracket using a box cutter. Just mark the area you want to cut and scribe it several times with the box cutter. With a pair of pliers gently rock back and fourth on the scribe line and the plastic will break on the lines, then clean it up with the box cutter. You will also have to cut some of the support plastic ribs on the under cover that interfere with the bracket. Then do the same for the removable small back cover. That’s it, you’re done.

Tomas,
Please go to the “Forums” under “Harware” and then to “Modding/ Overclocking” and do a search for “Wall Mounting a HP TouchSmart PC”. All the details and pictures are listed for you. Someone also just took my write up and put into pullet form.
Let me know how your Mod comes out.

It’s a giant iPod Touch! How is not having a blueray player a downfall on a computer? Within 2years everything will be solid state media anyways.Does it come with a leather pouch, or do you just fit it in your back pocket?

If anythingthe iPhone and iPod touh are just tiny versions of this. As the first version of this came out a year and a half before the first iPhone did.
