CNN is reporting, that Cuba President Raul Castro has lifted the ban on Cell Phones for ordinary citizens. Previously only government officials and employees of foreign firms were allowed to have cell phones.
But even though the cell phone ban has been lifted, the price for the service will be so high that the average Cuban will not be able to afford it. On average a Cuban family makes $20 USD a month.
