Just when we thought the Cuban government was changing for the better, we find out that they now are blocking a popular Cuban blogger.
Two weeks ago Cuban President Raul Castro lifted a ban that would permit his population to purchase computers among other things. But with that new freedom Cubans are now facing censorship, as the Cuban government has blocked a popular bloggers website.
Yoani Sanchez, who runs a blog critical of the Cuban government says that Cubans can no longer access her website. She told Reuters that all visitors to her site see is an “error downloading” message.
Sanchez who lives in Cuba also says via her blog that she is unable to update her post from Cuba and is forced to use a proxy server to get around the blockade.
In Spanish she writes, that she has been bad, that she does things she shouldn’t do like posting her opinions on her blog, but she does it with out being anonymous and shows us her picture, she goes on to say that the anonymous censors of Cuba have locked her in a room, turned off a light and will not let her friends in.
