Today I was chatting with a friend at a local electronics store about some of my interesting wifi projects, and I was lucky enough to get a few cool toys from the guy, for free nonetheless.
Apparently this guy has a lot of surplus RF equipment, and as such I was able to snag a 8dBi omni-directional wifi antenna encased in ridged fiberglass, which I plan to mount on my truck for war driving, and an old parabolic satellite dish. I plan to try several different types of drivers for the dish, and I’ll post guides as I acquire parts to do so. I plan to build it into a quad-dipole, a double quad-dipole, and possibly even a backfiring antenna.
More to come on this as soon as I can acquire the other materials I need…
