Th rumors have finally been confirmed, Motorstorm 2 is real.  According to ThreeSpeech the game is set to be released in Autumn 2008. It will feature 4-player split-screen, 16 new tracks featuring new environments and monster trucks have been added.

Sonic the Hedgehog is debuting in his first role-playing game courtesy of Bioware in their Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, and the Nintendo Power February issue has a 7-page preview on how the game is shaping up and what to expect.  In a surprising move, given how touchy most magazines are about keeping their printed material off of the internet, they have made an Adobe pdf file of the magazine freely available on the official website, available here.  If you’re a longtime Sonic fan who’s been a bit disappointed in sneakered speedster’s recent games, take the time to check out the fine print - this game looks like it has the potential to be the most fulfilling Sonic experience we’ve seen in years.  Keep reading for a few major details if you’re too lazy to check out the article

Today Microsoft announced that the prices for their Xbox 360 consoles in Europe will drop.

The Arcade pack will have a recommended retail price of £159.99 (down £ 40), the Premium pack will be £199.99 (down £ 60), and the Elite £259.99 (down £40). Seems like the Premium will have the biggest price cut. These new prices go into effect on Friday March 14th 2008.

Microsoft said the price cut is business as usual, but one has to wonder if the success the PS3 has had of late is a major factor in their decision, and claimed the Xbox 360 is the biggest selling console in Europe. 

For those who have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the latest edition of Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. series, the wait is finally over at midnight on Saturday, March 8th.  Retailer Gamestop is kicking off the launch by hosting midnight launch “parties” and tournaments at stores around the U.S.  Gamers who think they have the skills to prove themselves the best (or people just looking to experience a quick taste of the game) can participate in these tournaments, which, provided the skills are there, could have some very lucrative outcomes.

It may be a little difficult to believe, but the pink puffball has endured and thrived since his inception on the 8-Bit Nintendo Entertainment System, appearing on practically every one of Nintendo’s systems in various incarnations.  True to his shape-changing powers, Kirby has entertained gamers in a variety of forms ranging from pinball and limbless wonder to being one of the thus far most permanent characters in Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. series.  Therefore, today, we salute Kirby along with one of the catchiest and versatile tunes present in his games, “Gourmet Race.”

EA has announced that one of their most anticipated games “Army of Two” is now shipping to retail stores and should be available starting the 7th of March in North America and Europe.

Army of Two is a 3rd person co-op shooter for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The game promises to throw you into hot spots ripped from today’s headlines.

According to a post made on the Playstation Blog, flOw will see a PSP release tomorrow. For those who don’t know, flOw originated as part of a thesis project by Jenova Chen at USC. The game garnered interest when it was first released as a flash game but soon after it was released as a PSN title.

Sony will be releasing a clothing line which will feature Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and Clank, God of War, Little Big Planet and more! I can’t wait to get my hands on a Little Big Planet shirt!

THQ today announced that it is shipping Ships Warhammer® 40,000: Dawn of War – Soulstorm for WIndows based computers to retail stores worldwide. The game features an intense interplanetary campaign and also debuts some new air vehicles.

“As one of the best-selling RTS series, the Dawn of War franchise is renowned for its intense action oriented gameplay,” said Brad Carraway, director, global brand management, THQ. “As the next Dawn of War chapter, Soulstorm takes it to next level, offering RTS gamers an unprecedented depth of gameplay with nine playable armies and air units, and the ability to play Soulstorm by itself, or extend their multiplayer experience if played with any of the other games in the Dawn of War series.”
