According to a recent survey done by BrandChannel, consumers around the world would rather have dinner with Apple than any other brand.

People have also said they relate more to Apple, are inspired more by Apple and can’t live with out Apple. The same survey shows that Microsoft is considered evil in a way as most people want to argue with them and think it’s time the company is re-branded.

However the survey in my opinion is kind of biased, 2,000 people responded to the survey 74% of them work in marketing, and quite honestly the last time someone who worked in marketing decided what I liked and wanted, I ended up with a Microsoft Zune Original.

I say stand on a street corner, ask 2000 people that walk by what brands they like and don’t give them a list to choose from. Results may be the same but I think the survey would be more honest.

I actually participated in a survey like this 4 years ago and I was told what brands I could chose from, even though I felt some of the brands that were listed didn’t deserve to fit into any category.

Before I head to work I’d like to comment on this.

All Apple is really known for is the iPhone and iPod most of my friends don’t have a clue they make computers. I literally have a boss who went to an Apple store saw computers and said to me, so who is their white label provider.

I work in Marketing so I take offense to the marketing comment, but you are right a lot of us think we know what the public wants. You wouldn’t believe how products are changed because of marketing and legal.

Chris one of Marketings biggest blunders is what they did to Vista.

One of Marketings biggest acomplishments is what they did to Apple.

What’s the difference between the two? Marketing at Microsoft had their DNA all over Vista, I doubt Apples Marketing has any say in how the product should work etc, they just market it.

Apple also has a huge marketing blunder to use your word. A lot of people have no idea that iTunes and iPods are made by Apple.

But that really isn’t a bad thing when you think about it.

Yep its apple and tunes for sure. I’m amazed people don’t seem to know this anyway. The brand is now so huge it is hard to miss.
