For the past few weeks I have been using the at&t Navigator (Telenav) for the iPhone and while I have had some issues with the software in some parts of the country it works pretty well and has helped me easily and quickly find my way around town.
While in San Francisco last month I ran into some problems with the service, but since then I have had no issues.
It locates me right away, it finds directions faster than my Tom-Tom and it hasn’t gotten me lost yet. Yes a GPS can get you lost just as Radiris who’s GPS got her lost.
The at&t navigator can also help you find points of interest really quickly as well, their POI database is loaded with all kinds of places from Coffee Shops to WiFi hot spots.
My favorite feature of all is the pedestrian mode. Living in NYC I walk to a lot of places and don’t necessarily drive there so sometimes making a left onto the ramp for the expressway isn’t always an option.
The $9.99 a month fee in my opinion is reasonable for the service it offers, although I do wish at&t had a similar plan to Sprint where GPS is included.
Check out the at&t Navigator on the app store for more information and if you want to try it out they are offering a 30 day trial.

SF has TERRIBLE AT&T;coverage. Google maps works good enough for me. It’s a trip watching my car advance on the route as a blue pulsating dot

Not only did we further improve our already known, excellent built-quality,but we were also able to shrink the size by an incredible 66% over our existing USB Line Out model..

My biggest complaint about the AT&T;Navigator is that it will not talk to me through my BlueTooth headset. i used to have Verizon’s Navigator which did utilize my BlueTooth headset, which is really nice in a noisy tractor-trailer like i drive. It is technically illegal to drive with earbuds in since they block both of your ears to outside noises such as police/emergency sirens, etc., but one ear being blocked is acceptable. Anyway - the addition of the capability to utilize a BlueTooth earpiece would be a big help and I wouldn’t think it would be that hard for them to add to the software.
