Apple today made available a beta of Safari 4, and claim it’s the worlds fastest and most innovative web browser available for Macs and PCs. Safari 4 uses the Nitro Javascript engine which supposedly runs javascript 30 times faster than IE7 and 4 times faster than FireFox.

I have been using the new Safari Browser for about 15 minutes now and honestly I can’t tell the difference in load times between it and IE 8 which has also been benchmarked faster than FireFox.

“Apple created Safari to bring innovation, speed and open standards back into web browsers, and today it takes another big step forward,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “Safari 4 is the fastest and most efficient browser for Mac and Windows, with great integration of HTML 5 and CSS 3 web standards that enables the next generation of interactive web applications.”

Don’t have Chrome but if apple left them out of the Press Release probably not well

There isn’t an OS X version of Chrome yet. I can’t speak to how it does under Windows but it’s still the fastest browser under OS X
