Last week I received the Toshiba Protégé R500, a system I have reviewed in the past but recently was refreshed. The R500 is one of the thinnest systems available and if I am not mistaken the thinnest available with a built in optical drive, and did I mention it’s super light too, weighing in only at 1 pound 10 ounces with the battery.
The R500 is one of my all time favorite systems, and with the new specs the S5007V version has, it promises to remain one of my all time favorites.

I have the R500, and love it. I dropped it once and almost died but it did not damage, I guess Igot lucky.
