Today Toshiba announced the expansion of the Qosmio line, with the Qosmio G55, X305 and F55. The new laptops were specifically designed for gamers and movie loves who need that mobility.

I have seen all three notebooks in person and I was blown away by their beauty. Toshiba put a lot of effort into the design of these notebooks and I have had the pleasure of seeing some of them as wood mock-ups and now final products. It was quite interesting to see how things progressed and changed over time.

“The Qosmio has long been the standard of excellence in the multimedia laptop space, in both styling and entertainment capabilities,” said Jeff Barney, vice president and general manager, Digital Products Division, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. “In an effort to take this standard to the next level for gamers and multimedia enthusiasts alike, the three new Qosmio models have been tailored specifically towards their personal interests, while staying true to the incredible user-experience that the Qosmio family is known for.”

Any of you love the Sony Playstation 3? Well you will love the Qosmio G55 as it has a built in Cell Processor. The same one the Playstation 3 uses. The Cell Processor in the G55 is branded the Toshiba Quad Core HD Processor and will give users extra abilities on their notebook. One demo I saw was using hand gestures to control programs.

Each of the new Qosmio’s feature what toshiba calls the Fusion Finish design, and feature touch multimedia buttons and flush touchpad and high speed eSata/USB. So if you want eSata you have it and if you don’t you can still use the port as a USB port. Also the USB ports are still powered when the system is in sleep mode or turned off.

The new systems will be available later this summer so keep an eye out for them, I know I will!
