The details of the iPhone SDK are leaking out. Most of which I anticipated in my previous entry but the zinger is Apple apparently closing the dock port to developers. No hardware GPS add-ons for you ! No FM receivers for you ! Peripherals of any kind are dead to you. Apples heavy handed tactics should not be a surprise but once again I’m reminded of a classic Seinfeld episode . . . “ The Soup Nazi “

Greatest episode ever of Seinfeld........
In terms of closing the dock port to developers, I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, I’d like to see stuff like an FM transmitter, hardware based GPS and other cool stuff. On the other hand, I’m not so sure I want to see the iPhone turned over to the wolves. Apple has a good thing going in regards to the iPhone and you can only change the recipe so much before you have something that is inedible.
Capesh?

But shouldn’t it be your choice, to add what you want to what you’ve paid 300 bucks for?

Not necessarily.....
I’m pretty sure that Apple decided to keep a tight rope on the iPhone and this is well known. If that’s not what you want; don’t buy it.

So basically you’re saying, apple knows best and as an end user I should only do what apple wants me to?
