Windows XP Sp3 has now RTM’ed and will be available to all via Microsoft Update on April 29th 2008.

The XP Sp3 update really doesn’t change Windows XP at all, it just adds a few minor enhancements and fixes a few security issues, and also allows for XP to work better with Vista over a network.

I received Maximo Products’ iMetal iP-HS1 and iP-HS2 headsets designed specifically for the iPhone early last week. The iP-HS1 and iP-HS2 feature a lightweight alloy metal body and a “high definition” microphone sensor. Both feature neodymium drivers and similar Sensitivity and Frequency Response numbers.  I decided to try each of the products out for a few days each.  In this review I’ll break down a few pros and cons I observed over the course of the past week for both items.

Judas Priest’s Screaming For Vengeance will be the first album released for Rock Band. It will be released Aprill 22nd for the Xbox 360 and PS3 owners will get it April 24th. The album will include 10 tracks and will be priced at $14.99 or can be purchased individually for $1.99. I doubt I’d ever buy a whole album considering how expensive it is, but I’m glad that Harmonix is finally fulfilling a promise they made when Rock Band was first announced.

So is $14.99 the new standard album price?
It’s not a standard. There’s not going to be a standard album pricing. It’s going to be a function of how many songs are included in the album...essentially there will be a volume discount applied.

Check out Kotaku for the full interview.

So I came across some demo code yesterday of rendering win32 forms using XSD’s. So I think to myself, I wonder if I can modify that to work as an InfoPath form environment. And the answer was a very easy yes. I don’t have XSL support in it so it’s not pretty but as you can see by the attached screenshot it loads InfoPath templates (*cough* XSD’s *cough*) just fine along with the associated XML file for the form contents just fine. Clicky below for a screenshot of my newly dubbed OpenPath.

Electronic Arts, Inc. proudly announced today that its “casual gaming” Sims franchise, started back in 2000, has sold over 100 million units including the two main games and the myriad of expansion packs.  This puts The Sims in fairly select company, as the other franchises that have a current claim to equal or greater numbers are Nintendo’s Mario franchise, at over 200 million, and the Pokemon phenomenon, with over 175 million units sold.  The Sims 2 players who want to celebrate with the company can hop over to the website tomorrow to pick up a free gift - an exclusive outfit to commemorate this sales milestone.

So one of my departments asked for a basic manual/guide on how to use sharepoint. So I wrote up a quick manual on the basics of sharepoint. Attached is a copy of what I came up with. I had to strip some of it out due to privacy concerns, but feel free to use it in your organizations or extend upon it. For end users (read: non-admins/developers) it should prve a handy guide to have.

**DISCLAIMER** HardwareGeeks is not suggesting giving your password out, this is merely an opinion of Cindy. Remember always keep your personal information private such as passwords and identifying numbers **DISCLAIMER**

Last year I remember hearing about a study that claimed 65% of all people men and women would give up their password in exchange for a chocolate bar, and I can tell you I would give up my password for a chocolate bar provided you have no idea what my username is.

A newer study that I heard about today while driving into work, says that 21% of all the people questioned would give up their password for no good reason, and 45% of women would give up their password for a prize while only 10% of men would.

Now on the radio show they made fun of us women, they said we were dumb for giving up our passwords, that our passwords can lead to identity theft etc. etc. etc…
