Just a quick little post about how to make Outlook display reminders automatically for a SharePoint calendar. I couldn’t find any documentation about doing this online but with a little digging I got it working by moving where Outlook places the shared calendar in it’s local folder tree over to the Calendar folder from the SharePoint Folders area.

Heya Alpha,

Tried your suggestion and was initially intrigued but found that once I moved it up under the main branch (out of the Sharepoint Folders branch) that it ceased communication back to the SP calendar on the site.

So while it DOES automatically notify, it doesn’t (for me) pick up newly created events from the site without having to re-add and re-move.

Still playing with it as its an intriguing idea.

Feel free to drop me a line if you’d like to continue discussion.  Yes, that really is my email address smile

http://www.codeproject.com/KB/sharepoint/SPScheduedReminders.aspx is the closest I found to a fix, if you do a modified version of the feature with a generic caml against a calendar you should be good to go smile
