Lately I’ve had an interest in photography, and someone whom I can only say is now officially a best friend helped me get one today. So I thought I would take some unboxing pictures.

I bought the camera at Circuit City for 629 and it came with a 18-55 lens. (D60 18-55 VR Kit). I’m really excited about the camera, I plan to use it at an upcoming trip to Disney Land.

It came like this, no shrink wrap.

I’ve really enjoyed my D40 the last 2 years

Michael on Sun, Jul 20th, 2008 at 10:27 PM

It was between the D40 and the D60

I was going to get the D40 but since the D60 was only 100 dollars more expensive for 4 more mega pixels I figured might as well go all out.

I recently got into photography majorly myself but could only just about scrape for a Canon G9, which is awesome, but I had to leave my girlfriend as top dog with her canon 400d SLR raspberry.

Only tip I have is just go out and take photos and play about with all the settings. Once you got aperature and iso settings in your head you can pretty much take anything lol. Get yourself a small, cheap tripod too and do some street photography at night… open shutter city scapes are some of my favourites because the camera seems to see what you don’t notice yourself.

Very nice camera by the way smile.

Thanks for the tip map, I already hae a tripod, I got it a few years ago for 3 bucks and it’s a 5 foot tall tri pod.

I have been playing with the different settings non stop and I have to thank Kingston for the 4 Gig memory card!!!!

Terry on Mon, Jul 21st, 2008 at 06:01 PM

You’ll need that 4GB card if you’re shooting in RAW mode. You’ll also need an editing app that supports that format but once you go RAW . . .

Yeah I’m shooting RAW + JPEG and it came with Nikons software.

I just bought a book called Nikon D60 Digital Field guide, already learned a few things.
