We all know how important it is to keep our systems cool, a cooler system equals a happier system. But when you’re a hardcore gamer or just have a super PC as I call them that generates a lot of heat, you may jam pack the system with fans and not really know if they are doing their job or if you even need a fan in a specific area of your PC.

With the Sentry LX Fan Controller not only can you manually and automatically control the speed of up to five fans but you are informed of the temperature in the area near the fans

Sentry LXI received my Sentry LX on Friday and on Friday I installed it and Installation was pretty easy.  You simply stick it in your case, it requires two empty 5.25” bays, you connect your fans to it, place the thermometers in 5 locations and power up your system.

I do recommend you place the thermometers near a fan so you can get a general idea of what the temperature near that fan is, each fan wire and thermometer wire are labeled 1 – 5 so you know which goes with which. I really wished that this came with a specific plug and themometer for the Heatsink fan on the CPU.

The Sentry LX looks great in the system, I honestly think it made my system look like a million dollars, the only problem with it is, if you have your case under your desk it becomes a bit difficult to read the display. You basically need to look at it straight on to read it and even sometimes that can be a bit difficult. Look at the pictures below to see what I mean.

As I said before the Sentry LX can control up to five fans and monitor the temperature in five specific spots, it’s also very easy to install. It’s a great little product, but because of the display being hard to read at an angle we can only award it our 4 Star Kick Ass award.

It’s will be available soon from Newegg.com and Amazon.com

Looks like a gimmick and a waste of money to me.

I’m having a bitch of a time interfacing this unit to my antec (900)case fans. It begs the question what to use (special plug) to have the controller work in my case.
