Earlier today, HP Introduced the w1707 a webcam that promises to deliver up to 12 mega pixel image quality and 5x zoom.

Pretty impressive considering the camera only cost $99.99. While the Camera is not in stores yet HP was kind enough to send us a sample to check out for 2 weeks and before we bring you the review, we thought we would tease you with some pictures we took when we unpacked it.

w1707 in package
Grrr I hate opening plastic packages like this.

Electric Scissors Opening it YAY
Thank you Black and Decker for the Electric Power Scissors, only $9.95 at Target.

Turn off the Flash
Back of the Box, I think someone forgot to turn off the flash. No pointing fingers.

FIrst Viewing
Is it just me, or when you finally are able to see and touch the item inside of a package, it’s as amazing and beautiful as witnessing a child’s birth?

More pictures and a review to come with in 2 weeks.

This is the only website on the internet that I have found that has this webcam...and we might have to wait two weeks?!? I am going to buy it April 6th when it comes out, but would love a mini review of some sort. How is the image quality for streaming? Can you try live.yahoo.com or justin.tv or one of those? Thanks!

Actually I plan to have the review up on the 6th in time for when it hits best buy.

Just an FYI it will only be available at best buy.

Right now I can tell you that the image quality at the default level is not as good as that of the Logitech 9000 Pro, but when you increase the resolution etc the image quality improves to match that of the 9000 and surpasses it if you take the resolution even higher.

I need a webcam and I would buy this but there is no best buy around where I live.

It will probably be available elsewhere later in the year but it will be available on bestbuy.com most likely.
