A lot of companies recommend their products for one genre or another, and for me a case to be considered a “Gaming Case” it literally has to give me three things, great cooling, easy access to my hardware inside, and able to keep the noise level down. Oh and let’s not forget it has to be light so that I don’t throw my back out if I decide to take it to a Lan Party but then again I wouldn’t mind lugging around a heavy case if it gave me the first three things.
Well the Guardian 921 gives me all that and more. The case gives you a spacious interior which gives you enough room for cable management, and it has a built in temperature gauge so that you can monitor the temperature inside, it has three 120mm fans sucking that hot air out of your system and most importantly to me, it keeps the noise level down.
It’s also not that heavy even when fully loaded with all my hardware.
The case is beautiful, its front has a door that lights up when powered up, but it doesn’t give off to much light to find disturbing when you are in a dark room. The temperature gauge is located directly above the door and it allows you to constantly monitor the temperature in three zones. It also gives the case a cool futuristic look.
The side panel is clear and also lights up, looks really nice in a dark room, one of the fans is also located in the middle of the panel and sucks out a lot of hot air, I never realized how hot my system would get until I felt the air blowing on my leg.
Installing your motherboard and other peripherals into the Guardian 921 is a breeze, with so much space inside the case you can get both your hands inside comfortably and not end up with scratch bloody knuckles.
The cabling inside the case is also labeled appropriately, no guessing what cable is for what as it’s all pretty much laid out for you. I have had some cases that didn’t label any of the cables and it became a tedious trial and error process.
I like that it also had a built in e-Sata port on the side of the case near the door, and 2 additional USB ports along with a mic and headphone jack.
Overall the Guardian 921 is a Kick ass Case, and for the $80 dollars it will cost you at Newegg.com well worth it.
It does not come with a PSU though.
Since we said the Guardian 921 is a Kick ass Case we award it our 5 Star Kick Ass Award!
