For the past two weeks, I have been testing out the AURIA EQ2288F 22” LCD HDTV, and I have to say for a brand I have not heard of before it is a pretty nice TV, the picture quality is great and it is very easy to set up and it looks great too.
I was a bit disappointed in how easy it was to setup, maybe it is just me but I like to spend a good 20 to 30 minutes setting up the TV, but with one HDMI cable I had it all hooked up in less than a minute. For those of you who are unfamiliar with HDMI, the cable delivers both High-Def video and sound to your television.
The EQ2288F has an eligant modern design to it, that will probably look good in any room with any decor as you can see from the picture to the right.
When I first turned on the TV I was impressed by the picture quality, it’s a great picture especially in HD. The sound quality however when I first turned on the TV wasn’t that great, it kind of sounded like they used notebook speakers in it, but after going into the settings menu, I saw that the sound settings were a bit off and after tweaking the settings back into what I thought was an acceptable range the sound was much better and clear. My guess is the person that reviewed it before me fiddled with the settings without returning them to their original state. So I think what I experienced is a non issue, however if you buy this television and the sound is off a bit, tweak the sound settings in the menu and see if that helps.
As I already said the picture quality is great, and continuing with the ease of use, the TV has preset color settings, that will make it easy for people like my to mom adjust the colors on the television to their liking, but of course if you want you can adjust the settings even more in the menu if the preset color settings aren’t to your liking.
When people think of HDTV’s especially ones with a 1080p resolution, they expect to pay an arm and a leg, even on smaller 19” - 22” models, and during this past Christmas Season I almost bought a 19” Phillips 1080p screen for $279 on sale at Target until I saw how small the screen was, so I was pretty amazed to learn that the AURIA 22” 1080p HDTV I have been reviewing for the past two weeks has an MSRP of just $279 and although only 3 inches bigger than the 19” TV there seems to be a lot more than 3” inches of added screen size. You can’t find a TV this size with a 1080p resolution at this price. You may find some 720p TV’s at this price but 1080p is almost double or triple the cost of the AURIA EQ2288F in some cases.
In these bad economic times, saving a penny here and a penny there will go along way, and if you need a new TV an AURIA TV may save you a couple thousand pennies, for you to use on other things.
The EQ2288F also doubles as a monitor, and works pretty damned well as one, I only wish it had PIP so that I could watch TV in the corner of the screen while I was writing up this review, but then I would probably never get anything done.
The remote for the TV is a standard report not to flashy and it’s not extremely long like some other remotes I have seen come with TVs.
There is a request I’d like to make the people at AURIA. You need to include the online user manual in the box. The included manual leaves a lot to be desired. If you purchased this TV and are looking for the online manual. It is located here.
The AURIA TV is great and we recommend it for a small room, a kids room, a kitchen or if you dare great for a bathroom, and the price can’t be beat. In fact you can find the AURIA EQ2288F at Newegg for $269.

I just purchased this TV because of the price and size even though I had never heard of the brand, on 11-27-09 for $189.00. The picture looks great, the sound is very good, and setup was extremely easy. Your review was perfect. I tried to use your link for the online users manual and it did not work.

I just purchased this TV on 12/26/09 for $179.95 The picture is great but the sound is very tinny. I tried to tweak the bass and treble, actually turned them all the way off and the sound was a little better, but still has that tinny sound, noticeably worse on some channels. I read that you tweaked your sound… what exactly did you do and what are your settings to get clear sound?
Overall I am pleased with the purchase. It was extremely easy to set up. Now I just have to figure out how to attach the DVD player! LOL

Well, since getting this TV in Dec. I am now on my second one, which has also broken. We e-mailed their repair and they sent us a box, to get it repaired, but then ABC warehouse decided to replace the first one on Jan. 19th. We had it approx 3 weeks. Then it decided to quit working. No picture, no sound and would not shut off without being unplugged.
The replacement lasted a month and a half, and died the end of March with the same problem. We re-emailed the service dept in Calif and they told us they were no longer a repair site and to call this other place in Indiana or Illinois. Still waiting for them to call me with what do do with this piece of crap. Any suggestions? Should we all call the BBB and lodge complaints about EQD Corp and their lousy Auria TV?
I dont want another one.. have read too many complaints about this TV breaking and then no help from the company.

I bought this tv for my daughter as a Christmas present. I thought it was a great price and the quality was just okay but for an 8 year it was fine. The sound was horrible, very muffled like and the picture was a little grainy. Well, last night my daughter watched a movie and it was fine, we shut the tv off and when we woke up in the morning she tried to turn the tv on and it won’t work. You can press power the AURIA page comes up and then the screen goes black, I cannot turn the tv off unless I unplug it. I even left it unplugged for a little while and it still won’t work. I understand it was a cheap tv but $190.00 is still a lot of money for something to last only 3 1/2 months. I am very upset and there is very little information on the EQDcorp.com website. I just threw the box away last weekend because I was not having any problems with it, always the way. Can someone please let me know if there is anything I can do to get this problem fixed, as of now I haven’t found anything online. I will go to the BBB if it will help.
Thanks,

I called EQD Corp in california and spoke to Daniel. He was very helpful. He sent me an email with all the information needed to return the tv for repair. I am shipping it back today, so will see how things pan out after that. Hope they can fix it or replace it with a better model.
Here is their number: 1-877-375-1065. You will need the serial number on the TV when you call.
Good luck, let us know what happens!

Good TV until it broke, same issues as above, power on, get AURIA screen then nothing, cant even turn it off. Need to unplug it.
Was able to get a RMA# and sent it back on April 26th after waiting for about 3 weeks. Sent it in and did not hear anything back so I called them on May 12th. They had no status update for me and could not even tell me if it was recieved or not. I sent it FedEx so I have the delivery info, (was signed for on the 28th of April)
This is not good customer service at all.
Getting very upset at this point.
Was told they would look into my problem and call me back in a day or two. We’ll see.......

I purchased this TV for my little brother for 239.00 last august. Now I feel like I got ripped off. I got my first replacement in the first month. dead pixel issues due to poor quality. now the second one stopped working with the same turn on and lock black screen issue. I called weeks ago to get my box to get it replaced, but no dice. This is really angering me.
I purchased the TV from newegg.com using my bank account and my friends newegg account. Someone literally a weeks before the TV died tried hacking his newegg account and ordering stuff fraudulently, new egg couldnt verify his identity, so everything I bought through his account with extended warranties is f***ing useless. I had an extra 2 year warranty on this TV through newegg, my motorola s805 headphones, powersupply for my pc, my monitor and various little things. The account is now locked and I don’t know what to do. Can I sue newegg for breach of contract since I purchased extended warrenties on the items?
I have my RMA and shipping info and order info emails from newegg from when I originally placed the order. Can anyone give me some advice?

Kelley,so you are telling us that EQD repaired your first set and now it has done the same thing again?
I really think we should make reports to the Better Business Bureau about this company and their tv. Now that they have my TV for “repair” (its almost been a month now and no word) I am beginning to wonder if i ever will hear anything from them.
As for your newegg dilemma, i have no clue what you can do.

Connie on Mon, Jun 14th, 2010 at 09:25 AM
We sent our TV back on Thursday (June 10). It took over a month to get it back and it seems to be working fine. I hope this time it lasts longer than 2 months!

Just got my unit back that I sent in on April 26th. Works good so far..........
Customer support was not very helpful, could never get an answer when it would be fixed. Asked to speak to a manager and was told someone would call me back but no one ever did.
It just showed up yesterday.
connie on Tue, Jun 15th, 2010 at 05:10 PM
