Microsoft has confirmed to Mary J Foley that Windows 7 the newest OS from Microsoft will ship in 2009.
There have been a lot of rumors that Win 7 would be available in time for the holidays. I personally expect to see free upgrade coupons for people who purchase a new computer in Q3 and 4 of this year that doesn’t have Win 7 pre installed..
I think we will still see Win 7 RTM in September but it’s rumored it will be late October.

It’s probably a good idea so long as they don’t rush Windows 7 too much and end up releasing it full of bugs! That would really be stupid, and pointless.If when it appears it’s as good as they say it is, then yeah bring it out and replace Vista! Even though I don’t think Vista is as bad as people make out, I’m sure no one will miss it
