Just before Christmas I received the LiveScribe 4GB Pulse Pen and it has been my best friend ever since. I use it to take notes, as a voice recorder and I even use it to pass time playing the different mini games available for purchase from the LiveScribe App store.
The Pulse Pen with the use of special paper which is sold separately (you can print your own for free) allows you to transfer your paper notes to your computer, create voice recordings while you take notes and so much more. It’s probably one of the best inventions ever.
I used the Pulse Pen extensively during CES, while various companies talked to me about their products I would record it while taking notes. While you’re taking notes and recording you can literally go back and listen to what they were saying while you wrote a specific word by simply tapping on the word with the tip of the pen. No more thinking about what they were talking about when you wrote that, now you can hear what they were saying.
But this is what you would expect from the Pulse Pen and the only thing new with the 4GB version is the added memory which is a big plus!
What’s really exciting from LiveScribe is the App Store which was launched back in late November. The App Store makes it easier for you to find add-on programs for your Pulse Pen,
There are tons of applications now available, some cost absolutely nothing, and I have seen others as high as $120 dollars.
I personally have the following apps, Hang man, Pocker, Black Jack and the English to Spanish Dictionary.
While at a Press Event in December here in NYC, LiveScribe told me about a program called Magic Yad, is a program that consists of a torah and haftarah (sp?). It’s used to teach people how they are to correctly recite or chant. You can even record yourself and compare. From what I was told people pay thousands of dollars to be taught what the pens Magic Yad program teaches for $120.00.
The App store is one of the easiest to use, I am a huge iPhone app lover and while the LiveScribe App store is no Apple App Store it’s just as good and as easy to use. My only problem is I run out of space on my pulse pen to store all the apps I have downloaded .
I always liked the LiveScribe Pulse Pen, but the App Store has officially taken it to another level and with its launch it got even better!
For more information on the Pen and the App Store visit: http://www.livescribe.com If you have a LiveScribe Pulse Pen that is 1 or 2GB you will need to upgrade your desktop software to the latest version to take advantage of the App Store.

Over all it is a good product but i would like them to make it easier for the user to do things with the software, and make it easier to print your own paper it cost 19.95 for 400 sheets of paper. That is bit steep for just buying paper.
