Hey, everybody!  It’s amazing what people are able to do with old sprites these days, moving beyond the static images of sprite comics and into some simply amazing animations.  In tribute to both the talents of these innovative creators and the characters around whom their productions are designed, I’m going to try and regularly post clips featuring video game characters in different and interesting ways.  First up, that classic blue humanoid robot, Rockman/Megaman!

This first video features a remix of the “Airman” stage theme from Mega Man 3 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, called “I Can’t Beat Airman”.  The original version simply isn’t quite as catchy, so I’m posting the Team Nekokan version, which features some snazzy animation to go with their version of the song.

If you don’t mind Engrish, here’s a partially translated/dubbed version of the video that’s basically correct, if a little difficult to understand without the subtitles:

Finally, if there are any anime fans in the audience, you may be familiar with a series called The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.  Without further ado, here are MegaMan and associates doing the dance from the end credits:

So, what did you all think?  I find these kinds of things entertaining, but my brain and I may have spent too much time in front of screens of various sizes to have a well-adjusted sense of humor.  For those interested in seeing many more of these amusing concoctions, it’s possible to search Youtube, but if you can read any Japanese it’s easiest to go to where all these videos originally came from and create an account at Nico Nico Douga.  Think of it as the Japanese version of Youtube. wink
