It may be a little difficult to believe, but the pink puffball has endured and thrived since his inception on the 8-Bit Nintendo Entertainment System, appearing on practically every one of Nintendo’s systems in various incarnations. True to his shape-changing powers, Kirby has entertained gamers in a variety of forms ranging from pinball and limbless wonder to being one of the thus far most permanent characters in Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. series. Therefore, today, we salute Kirby along with one of the catchiest and versatile tunes present in his games, “Gourmet Race.”
As fans of Kirby’s games may well know, he’s not only a fighter, but he’ll occasionally sing too (at least if you can find him a mic.) Here, an enterprising soul has crafted a painstakingly accurate rendition Kirby singing the Gourmet Race using the Nintendo 64’s Super Smash Bros.:
Another one of Kirby’s little traditions is his splitting into several copies of himself and doing a little dance when you clear a stage in one of his adventuring games. Another brilliant animator has moved Kirby into the realm of 3D and given him a new tune to dance to without losing any of the signature Kirby charm:
Finally, what could better combine with Kirby and the Gourmet Race than...Snoop Dogg? I’m not sure how long anybody had to listen to these two songs in order to dream up this remix, but here is an unbelievably synced juxtaposition of the Gourmet Race and Snoop Dogg’s “Drop It Like It’s Hot”. Enjoy, but watch the volume if you’re at work!
Oh, and for those who are familiar with webcomics of the gaming variety, yes, all of these videos have been previously linked to by Scott Ramsoomair, creator of the ongoing webcomic VG Cats. If you like video games, but you’re not familiar with Mr. Ramsoomair’s work, I highly suggest you pop over and check it out. While I hold that some of the comics are wrong on a level that exceed my capacity for description, there’s enough comic gold in the archives to appeal to the fans of any kind of gaming genre.

Graphically, the game has the same sort of bright, colorful look that you’d expect from an entry in the Kirby series. It’s a great-looking game. The audio is equally as good.
