A PSU is a Power Supply Unit, you can find Ultra branded 500w ones for as little as $50 (and thats a bit more power than most systems need). What are the specs you need?

PSU are not that expensive.
This can help you: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...on=psu&x=0&y=0 Prices start from $20 (400W) if you want something better (quality) you can have one for $49 ![]() I hope you find one - if you still have questions about the PSU let me know ![]() |

It's not that a specific computer only can have just one PSU. I mean you can put a 320W, 400W, 500W or higher into your case. Say your computerspecs so I can say you what amount of Watt you will need.
![]() By the way 70-80 USD is not that much. I also had to replace my CRT monitor because it was broken and I had to pay 250 USD for a new monitor. I did that by myself and I was just one year older then you are now... |

Well here is my submission.. i worked my ass off on this, even taking the picture was quite difficult... hopefully you'll find it amuzing, i wanted something a bit different and original, yet funny.
My Picture Taken at Niagara Falls, Canada. It was not a nice day out, there was like a 5 min sunny break during the day that we waited for, and we had to drag along the kids just so we could get this one pic..lol ![]() Bonus Entry (commercial) Nothing amazing.. but i thought it was clever and a good way of bringing people to the site to help out ![]() Contest Entry (Video) First off, i know nothing about video editing... so i had to learn everything i did here very quickly and try to pull this off. I showed the computer my wife and I share in our bedroom and attempted to make a humorous video while doing it. Thanks to my wife who was hesitant to participate. heh The room in the video is actually our bedroom, we just moved our youngest child out of there into what used to be our computer room, now our computer is stuck in a little corner in our bedroom.. damn babies. The Specs for the above computer are as follows: ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 6/6/2008, 14:50:36 Machine name: KIRSTEN Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp.060411-1541) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: Compaq System Model: Presario 4400US BIOS: 686P9 v1.07 Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(TM) CPU 1300MHz Memory: 382MB RAM Page File: 227MB used, 693MB available Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS Here is why we deserve the Dragon and why it would be good for us. I can't say that i'm in College like most of the other geeks on this site, that time for me has come and gone. I have 2 amazing children and a truly beautiful wife that take up the majority of free time i have. We got together when we were young and decided to have a family and put off any chances of having a career and it's been tough, but we wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Alot of things we have today such as that computer listed above was given to us by friends and family which we are truly greatful for cause we haven't had much good luck otherwise. Don't mistake this for a "sob" story, this is a story about taking a "different" path in life and then getting back on the road and enjoying the ride. This year my wife is planning on going back to school to take some courses, and i've been trying to get my career as a graphic designer off the ground. In our spare time she likes to take videos of our children and edit them to show the family, and my hobby is photography, and i'm a big lover of video games, so together we make a perfect couple for this amazing computer. Most of you on this forum know me.. i'm a regular here. Some like me, while others don't, but i'll be the first to admit that i can be an ass sometimes. But my wife, she doesn't know how to be anything but perfect to me and i would love nothing more then to be able to give her something like this, plus not that it counts for bonus points or anything, but her birthday is June 15th, 1980 So this would make one hell of a gift.anyway guys.. thanks for your consideration. Win or lose, i'll still be around to bug you all ![]() |

Hello,
My name is Felipe. This is my entry for the Hardware Geeks HP Dragon contest. Tried to make it fun. Hope you like it, don't have experience with videos. http://www.vimeo.com/1129980 The specs of my system: Pentium 4 -3Ghz, 1GB ram, Geforce MX 440 64 MB, 120GB Hard drive I won’t be cursing it here, because it has been of great use to me. Although, it has become a bottleneck to my work. This is mainly why I want this Dragon. The HP Dragon has many qualities, and all of them would help me a lot with my work and, of course, when having some fun. Of course life isn’t just about work. We also need to have some fun. I’ve missed many cool games because of my graphics card. I´m a huge fan of the fallout series. Since when I bought the first one. I’ve been waiting for the sequence for 10 years, and now that it is coming I would be very, very, very happy to be able to play it. Also, the ability to wath movies and tv will be very apreciated by both my family and I. We will enjoy many popcorn eating hours together. P.S.: How can I make the pictures and the video show up in my post? Doesn't seem to be working. When I click "Preview Post" nothing shows up. The pictures in the video can also be found here: My system: http://www.flickr.com/photos/3233278...n/photostream/ Me and the Logo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/3233278...n/photostream/ |

I am not experienced with online photos, so I couldn't get flickr to work. I used photobucket instead and it gives you a link that you just need to post in the post.

To answer how the HDX will benefit me i first want to tell a little sad story that eventually will conclude how the dream computer dragon will benefit me
![]() So this is what is left of my baby. ![]() Its one notebook that took me a long time and with hard labor to afford, worked a whole summer to buy this computer. Well as you can see the notebook is almost dead and here is why: I wanted to get a notebook bag for my precious new family member so i went to a store at home in the Faroe Islands to buy one. Well 2 days later the bags slip broke while i was carrying it . The computer got some damage so i went to the store to complain and they gave me a new bag. While the computer damage was more or less my own problem... Right after the "accident" i moved to Ireland and soon forgot all about the unlucky episode. But now the really funny part is that the so called new bag also broke (what a load of crap) and the computer got even more damage and its a wonder it still runs. Yes i know how stupid can you be to try a new bag? well i didn't think it would happen TWICE :/ All the arrows on the picture indicate where the damage is while i have add closeup pictures of the damage. To say all the damage: The front left has got the most damage i can see the inside of the computer lol. There is a crack just above the notepad. At the right hand site there is a crack that goes from the hard disk cover all the way to the top of the keyboard. the screen has got some damage too but it doesn't show in the pictures i have taken. The screen has 2 places where it just shines really bright or dark. Very noticeable when watching movies. The numlock light doesn't work. some times the computer makes this clicking sounds. guess its the hard disk complaining and randomly some keys on the keyboard don't work.Well that's all the stuff i can come to think about right now. hehSo that's my computer and whats left of it :/ As you might have guessed the Dragon while come in a dry spot since my computer is almost dead. And after my notebook goes to computer heaven i dont have any computer :/ Maybe just maybe there is some luck left for me for once??? Well the dragon would make me so so happy that i don't even have words to describe it. thx for given me the chance to tell my sad experience ![]() |
