Yep, I know a lot of people like that. But it's okay with me, because now I can use it for wardriving and not have to be so careful as I don't have $3000 in this one.

Anywho, I got a HD for it off ebay for $35. Here's a pic of the busted corner, just for the hell of it.

the ibook i exchanged for my movado watch, had the same thing happen over time, but it was never dropped.

Nice. Not as bad as I was expecting. As long as at least 1 USB port is working, not having the DVD drive isn't that big of an issue.

Good on finding the hard drive. Now all you need to find is the optical drive, then you're good to go.

Finally got this working, used an old 6GB iPod mini and a firewire cable, along with a USB 2.0 HD with my OSX 10.4 install DVD on it, and installed to the ipod. Everything worked fine, so I went to the store and got a 2.5 inch 80GB SATA HD to get everything working, and it runs like a charm. Now I have a "beat me up" laptop.
