View Full Version : Media Center IR Blaster
I've searched and searched and havn't found anything... So here goes...
I use a Digital Cable reciever so in order to navigate the TV in MCE I need some type of IR Repeater like comes with MCE PC's... Does any one know which one I should pick up??? I bought an ATI RF Remote but this does no good for my Digital Cable box...
Thanks in advance... This is all I need to complete my HTPC... :)

If you go to HP spare parts, their IR Blaster comes with the cables to hook it up to your Cable or Sattelite box.

They are still out of stock. Has anyone had luck ordering the Philips Remote and IR Receiver from accessmicro.com?

You can order the Philips MCE Remote, USB IR Receiver/blaster from http://www.northgate.com/Content/products/software_accessories/index.cfm; about $41, ~$50 after shipping.
It works fine, except I can't get it to change channels on my cable box.

oh, yeah, you'll need to search on "philips", in order for the item to show.

Do you have a link for thinkgeek.com??? I can't seem to find it a search for remote doesn't bring it up.. phillips doesn't work... thanks

it's not the phillips, it's just an IR Blaster type remote, it's on frontpage and computing sections

Yes, it's the same one that Alienware appears to bundle w/ their MCE systems. My system works great now.
