I have built my own homegrown Windows XP MCE PC, but am looking for some recommendations on the remaining parts:

1.) Video Tuner: Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II or Emuzed Maui PCI PVR? If they come with a remote, can this be used to control the Media Center application as well?

2.) Remote control/IR receiver: From searching through the forum, I see that it is possible to order the same remote/receiver combo that is used in the OEM models. Should I go with the HP combo, Phillips combo, Alienware, etc? Is there a difference between them all?

Thanks in advance for the help!!!

Also, any tips to find a beta of Longhorn would be appreciated!!!

One other question....from what I've heard from users of the Windows XP MCE with an external satellite receiver, the tuning is rather slow using the IR "eye" to relay the channel changing from the OS to the satellite receiver. Is there a way to have Windows XP MCE communicate with a satellite receiver via the low speed, serial data port, which is found on the Sony SAT-A50 receivers?

Thanks!

You can find what looks like the exact Hauppauge card from http://newegg.com it's called hauppauge freestyle oem

I'm not sure about the finding OEM remotes for MCE... I heard you can use the ATI remote wonder and get all the same functions.
