lynchknot dont feel guilty about d/l it. i dont see why not. they posted the links and are making it available to the people who want it. no harm in that. also its a nice way to get members for a brand new site.

I'm wondering if it's worth it. Will I lose all my msstyle themes?

not sure but i think you will. i believe AA runs longhorn he can tell you better.

yes you will, longhorn using a very different skinning engine than XP does, so old skins and old ways to get around .msstyle protection don't work on it. Though window blinds 4 is supposed to work on it

Is this any good? er.......is it warez?

Well, Longhorn isn't exactly on retail, so I can't see the real harm of using it right now. I'm not sure if MS really wanted this to be a closed test version, since many out there are using it. I personally don't think it's worth downloading right now though.

it's not warez, but it's not exactally legal either. Since it's not retail yet it's not stealing like warez is but it's still in that grey area.

It's only worth downloading it if you feel comfortable downloading it. If you have second thoughts don't download it, longhorn isn't for the timid user yet.

I would say download it. Its definately worth it if u like playing with the newest stuff. It does require a little tweaking to run fast and stable but that shouldn't be a problem ;)

I am a very patient person...so I will wait for the beta....

then again you have to be patient with MS ;)

It does have themes just the engine has changed so existing XP themes cannot be used. Did u guys really expect MS to leave the theming engine unchanged in longhorn? Get real people :P

I'm pretty happy with winxp pro for the most part.
I'll wait till the next version goes retail. :)
