I've been reading the forum and see all the mention of Longhorn. What is it? How can I get a copy of it? Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question

You can submit a request to be a beta tester for Microsoft.

You can look on the internet and I know you will find a copy to download.

Eww. No not winbeta.

Try http://www.xtechnet.net/index.php they are the channel that originally leaked it. Winbeta had it but wouldn't leak it so the tale goes.

if you don't know what Longhorn is, don't install it. Since the OS is in alpha stage, it's not worth it. Wait for a few more months when it goes beta.

i agree no sense i troubling yourself with alpha software if you're a n00b.

Or install it on the public computers at your local library (Alpha labs as I call em.)

Thats what I do when I come across something I don't want to test on my own system.

*Kidding of course.

LOL, I was thinking of doing that on the job with XP RC2 when I was interning in the summer. Unfortunately the boss was scary so I didn't want to risk it, even though those were test computers and go through a reformat each week.

Once longhorn goes beta, count me in....I know have a desktop that I can test softare on.

since HardwareGeeks does not now, nor in the future will it support warez, we can't give links to downloading it illegaly, though goto xbetas.net as was previously stated and you'll figure it out :)

tried LH on my spare computer, it isn't very much right now, a lot of drivers don't work, it's very slow, and the time bomb crack didn't work, stick with xp till a better version comes out

All XP drivers work fine on it, if you know how to install them. Time bomb is pointless who'll still be running this in 6months with no formats? And it's not slow once you tweak it, though it does require more than XP to be fast.

I've downloaded a copy of Longhorn. I've copied it to my HD as noted in this board. When I type WNNT.exe to install, it tells me that WINNT.EXE can no longer be used. How do I install Longhorn?

winnt32.exe
