Wi-Fi Calling coming to Verizon Wireless This Week

Wi-Fi calling is coming to Verizon wireless this week finally catching up to other carriers that have had the feature for months. However, the feature will only be available to some phones mostly next year. The feature which they are calling advanced calling will allow Samsung Phones to not only have wi-fi calling but Video calls as well.

Beginning the 8th of December two Samsung phones the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge will receive an update enabling them to have wi-fi calling. Other android based phones will receive the feature early next year, no word yet on iOS devices.

Verizon does want its subscribers to know, that while wi-fi calling is free. Calls to international numbers will still incur regular long distance rates.

    You can use viber app to call internationally over wifi though for free.
